The Alaska Dental Society has developed guidelines for its members to aid in the proper prescribing of opioids and alternative pain control methods. We welcome other prescribers to utilize the guide where appropriate. A reminder all prescribers with a DEA registration number (can write for controlled substances) must register with the Alaska Prescription Drug Monitoring Program by June 30th. The application must be done online at https://alaska.pmpaware.net/identities/new and a second form DATA REQUESTOR NOTARY FORM filled out then notarized acknowledging how the database will be used. ADS members can have their form notarized at the ADS office.
